Smooth McGroove’s newest Zelda acapella arrangement is none other than OoT’s Temple of Time

Smooth McGroove, a YouTuber well-known for his acapella arrangements, has done a cover of the Temple of Time theme from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Recording each song can take up to 30 to 40 hours which is about a weeks’ worth of work. With a full three octaves, the song demonstrates McGroove’s range well. His journey with acapella actually began with songs from the same 1998 classic. It was originally an arrangement made in 2013 that was later abandoned. The more recent video represents the final version but without the extra frills and embellishments the earlier one had. Smooth McGroove even shares his thoughts on the wide octave range.

“I personally like how the higher notes interact with the low, bassy notes, giving it more of a full choir feel. This song took many takes to just get right. I hope you all enjoy how it sounds.”
