Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, a popular cover band, has recently devoted a recording session to a medley of musical selections from Ocarina of Time. The band’s specialty is converting songs of all genres and eras into vintage-style swing and funk tunes. In collaboration with fleet-footed dancer Demi Remick, they released “Ocarina of Tap” on August 24th, 2023, celebrating the 1998 game’s most iconic songs.
The medley spotlights the nostalgic Ocarina of Time title theme, “Lost Woods,” “Song of Storms,” and a handful of other tracks. The band plays with the instruments and energy characteristic of jazz clubs in the genre’s prime, and Demi Remick, clad in Kokiri green, taps through each song with impeccable rhythm and blinding speed. The comments of the video are overwhelmingly positive, complimenting the talent and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
The last time Demi Remick danced alongside Postmodern Jukebox was for a Super Mario Bros. medley in 2019, which was also received well.
