Tunic to get a Nintendo Switch 2 update

Indie developer Finji has announced that the Legend of Zelda-inspired game Tunic will receive an update for the Nintendo Switch 2 system sometime in the future.

“TUNIC is 4 years old today,” wrote Finji in their public announcement on the game’s anniversary. “The perfect day to let you know that a Switch 2 update is on the way! We’re working hard on it – stay tuned!”

While the specific contents and release date of the update are still unknown, it will likely boost the resolution and performance of the original Nintendo Switch version of the game, taking advantage of the technology the newest console has to offer.

This 2022 modern indie classic is a worthy Zelda-like game that combines gameplay elements such as dungeons from The Legend of Zelda series and combat from Dark Souls into an isometric action-adventure package. While its art style may be cute, the game also presents plenty of challenge, mystery, and secrets for players to enjoy. Tunic has won awards that include the 2023 Artistic Achievement and Best Debut Game awards from BAFTA. If you need to scratch that Zelda itch while we wait for a new game announcement, now is a great time to get into Tunic. Check out our full review of the game here
