YouTube application is in the works for Switch 2

Google is working with Nintendo to bring the highly anticipated application to the newest generation of Nintendo hardware.

Despite having seamless backwards compatibility with the majority of Nintendo Switch titles, many games and apps are still incompatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 system, even seven months post console launch. YouTube, the popular video-sharing platform owned by Google, is one of many streaming apps still unavailable on the console, despite being a key application for many original Switch owners

Fortunately, the wait is expected to end soon, as Youtube put out a statement on social media assuring players of its development, stating, “We’re working with Nintendo to make YouTube available on the Switch 2 soon.”

While no dates or additional updates have been shared at this time, hopefully Nintendo Switch 2 users can look forward to watching their favorite videos on the latest Nintendo hardware in the near future.
