About: The state of Hyrule has massively changed due to a natural disaster. Islands float in the sky, vast underground depths have appeared, and the world has expanded. The nature and people who have long taken root in the land of Hyrule have also changed, and there is no shortage of things to discover. Here are some of the spots you’ll certainly want to visit in that Hyrule. Even if you’ve already explored Hyrule, there may still be new things to discover!”- Hyrule Discovery Journal – Tears of the Kingdom.

Whether traveling to the desolate corners of the Hebra Region, the stunning autumn beauty of Akala, or islands far up in the sky, “Hyrule Discovery Journal” has you covered with an extensive guide to each region’s notable sites, activities, towns, weather, enemies, clothing, and history. Furthermore, many volumes are sponsored by a local business from the featured region! The following volumes translated into English give you a good understanding of the newsletter’s flavor. We’ll look at Breath of the Wild being featured, followed by Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Top quality fluffy beds (sponsored by Swallow’s Roost): At the Rito Village inn, ‘Swallow’s Roost’, you can stay in ‘Rito Down-Beds’ made from the fine feathers of the Rito people. Sleep on these fluffy beds to shed the fatigue of adventure and restore more health than normal!  Don’t you deserve to treat yourself occasionally?”

Famous blissful hot springs created by magma: The Eldin Region’s Hot Springs are warmed by magma. Particularly, the ‘Goron Hot Springs’ have been used as a revitalizing hot spring to relax in since ancient times. Are you tired from mountain climbing or mining? The temperature is just right, of course, so you can relax without any equipment. At the hot spring near ‘Gut Check Rock’, you can also invite a Hinox for a very thrilling mixed-bathing experience.” – Volume 2, The Eldin Region.

Zora Royal Palace

Remember the Champion Mipha: Placed in the center of the royal palace is a statue of Mipha, the Zora Princess and Champion of Hyrule. 100 years ago, she lost her life inside the rampaging Divine Beast Vah Ruta, but even now it seems she peacefully watches over the land.” – Volume 3, The Lanaryu Region.

Three large waterfalls: Akkala Falls, where water cascades down from an overwhelming height. The Guardian ruins remaining in the area also help accent the area’s atmosphere. However, there are still functional Guardians, too, so keep sightseeing to a minimum.” – Volume 4, The Akkala Region.

Dealing with the monsters is key.

Transporting ice: A game where you transport ice from the ice house to the target destination before it melts. Here too, the time to the goal being essential is the point and you will not fail even if you drop the ice on the way. Purposefully throwing the ice and taking up arms against monsters is also allowed.
Place: Northern Ice House
Fee: 50 rupees (Rewards depend on timing)” – Volume 5, The Gerudo Region

V.S. Stalnox: Eye witness reports of the Stalnox say many appear in Central Hyrule and West Necluda between 9 in the evening and 5 in the morning. Like a Hinox, it can use nearby trees as weapons and dig up bombs, and furthermore, it can also use its own bones for attacks! Once again, as long as it has an eyeball, it is a formidable foe that will stand up again and again. Aim from a long distance with a bow and arrow!” – Volume EX, Hyrule Field.

Tears of the Kingdom

A huge temple towering into the skies: Among the expansive Great Sky Island, the ‘Temple of Time’ especially catches your eye. It is so large that it can even be seen from the ground, and that idea gives the impression it is from an advanced civilization.” – Volume 1, The Sky Islands.

An item that can’t be picked up?: Dropped when the Flux Construct is defeated, is a rotating and revolving part. This ‘Flux Construct Core’ cannot be picked up, but can be attached to weapons and shields with ‘Fuse’. When attached to a weapon its power will greatly increase, and things like breaking Mineral Ores will become easier.” – Volume 1, Sky Islands.

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom in every region of Hyrule: There are many famous cherry blossom spots in Hyrule. Even though they are all cherry blossoms, it can be fun to see the effect of different scenery, such as cherry blossoms in the grassland or a snowscape. At the Outkirt Stable, there is a map with cherry blossom locations marked, so you should try to see each region’s cherry blossoms!” – Volume 2, Central Hyrule.
