In the midst of the Switch 2 fanfare Nintendo has quietly made updates on their website, one of them being a tiny piece of fabulous news. Both Echoes of Wisdom and Link’s Awakening for the Switch will receive Switch 2 updates just in time on June 5, 2025 with HDR support. It’s confirmed through the product descriptions now plainly stated on Nintendo’s official website. This means that every Legend of Zelda game that was released for the Switch system will now be updated and ready to play for its successor. This technically excludes the current Switch spinoff lineup of Cadence of Hyrule and Hyrule Warriors games, however, but with a new Hyrule Warriors on the horizon it would be no surprise to see upcoming Switch 2 updates for those, either.
Both Echoes of Wisdom and Link’s Awakening are available for purchase now through various retailer outlets.
