Were you out of luck trying to get a Switch 2 preordered online? There’s still hope. Video game experts are discovering that traditional in-store methods could still be the way to go for a less stressful shopping experience. Midnight in-store launches are coming back by popular demand through certain retailers. According to their website, Best Buy will have a limited Switch 2 inventory reserved for the midnight launches, and customers may be able to receive a “Nintendo collectible.” The description of said collectible is not known. Customers can see more information about the midnight launch for their local Best Buy store location here.
GameStop is also advertising a midnight launch event for the Switch 2 with even more gusto. Their event begins in-stores at 3pm local time June 4th. Console pickups begin on midnight June 5th. They’re currently touting a generous 40% extra credit trade offer on any video game that will go toward a Switch 2 game or accessory purchase, and they do mean any video game. They’re even offering a free can of Red Bull for each GameStop Pro member who will come out to wait in line. That’s a sweet deal for any budget-strapped gamer these days. It’s encouraged, of course, to contact your local GameStop store if you have any questions about details regarding the subject. Bear in mind that the trade credit offer ends May 31st, so be sure to plan for getting that side of the business done before the midnight event starts.
