Nintendo and retailers team up for Switch 2 events in the US and around the world

We’re days away from the worldwide launch of the Switch 2 console and the excitement is electric. GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy and other retailers are dressing their best to get ready for midnight launch events. They’re making their lists and checking them twice for preorder shipments. Retail workers are preparing themselves too in mind and body for the inevitable marathon on June 5. But the hype doesn’t stop there. Best Buy plans to have special gaming truck theaters set up in their parking lots – yes, parking lots – for curious prospects to try out a demo of the Switch 2 console for themselves.

Retailers like Walmart are suiting up for the Switch 2 release with colorful advertisement displays.

Best Buy GameTrucks will appear at select Best Buy storefronts across the United States on June 7, 14, and 21, 2025. Limited runs of Switch 2 units will be available for in-store purchases. Participants can earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points and a chance to win free giveaways as well according to Best Buy. A more detailed list of GameTruck locations is visible at Nintendo Everything.

Nintendo has been hosting their own interactive Switch 2 demonstration event as well, called the Switch 2 Experience. They’ve done this for a while now at several locations around the world to promote their next big console. How does it play? Participants of the Switch 2 Experience have left with remarkable positive reviews. The Switch 2 Experience is mostly over, but lucky folks at Taipei, Taiwan might be able to snag attendance on July 5, 2025.
