On March 25, the speedrunning charity group Zeldathon released a new trailer announcing their latest flagship event in the series called Zeldathon Voyage. This year’s event, themed after The Wind Waker, will benefit charity:water. Founded in 2006, charity:water provides open source methods to achieve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygeine (WASH) programs that are tailored to each community they are supporting. Their goal is to provide sustainable and reliable solutions to rural communities around the world. You can read more about charity:water’s approach on their website.
Last year’s flagship speedrunning event Zeldathon 1986 raised $105,822.69 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Zeldathon was founded in 2009 by MC Moffit and Zak Ondish to play Zelda games for a good cause and has since then raised an incredible total of $3,596,051 for various charities over the years.
