After much speculation in the lead-up to The Legend of Zelda‘s 35th anniversary, series director Eiji Aonuma announced during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is being remastered and updated for the Nintendo Switch.
This remaster will feature improved visuals, “smoother and more intuitive” controls, and Joy-Con functionality. It was also confirmed that the game will be playable on both the original Switch and the Switch Lite, as button-only gameplay is also supported.
Skyward Sword HD will be released on July 16, 2021, and is available to preorder now on the Nintendo eShop.
