For players who are still progressing through Tears of the Kingdom, or for those of you who are just now starting your adventure in Hyrule, check out the free rewards available in the Switch’s News tab to receive a little boost to your inventory. Whether you’re in need of Zonai devices like rockets or carts, or are looking to stock up on cooking items with special benefits, or need supplies to craft unique weapons, these helpful bonuses should be a welcome addition to your game.
To claim the rewards, go to the News hub on the Switch’s home menu and single out the Tears of the Kingdom feed. There, you’ll find a number of posts with in-game rewards highlighted at the bottom. Launching the game from any of the applicable posts will automatically give you a few items that may come in handy, especially if you’re still early in the game. They also explain some tips that you may not have known before, and make suggestions aimed to help you use the items to their fullest potential. For example, one recent post elaborates on the luminous qualities of Glowing Cave Fish and Brightcaps, which can be cooked into incandescent meals that will assist you in exploring very dark places such as the Depths, and allows you to claim a few of each item as a reward.
There doesn’t appear to be a time limit or expiration date on these bonuses, so use them at your leisure whenever you’re looking for some convenient, free goodies in Tears of the Kingdom.
