What would Nintendo do if there is a year without E3? Apparently, the answer is to take the Switch on a summer road trip. That’s exactly what Nintendo of America plans to do beginning June 10th through September 5th in key towns across the United States. Why not, after all? It’s a great way for families to have fun outside in the fresh air and sunshine. It’s also a clever marketing move on Nintendo’s part as the Switch continues its powerful stride in the business sector. One of the biggest selling points for the Switch is its ability to play full-scale console games practically anywhere on its sleek screen.
According to Nintendo of America’s recent tweet, the Nintendo Switch Road Trip will give audiences a “decked-out event space with opportunities for photos and free swag!” Curious patrons can pay a fee to reserve a spot at one of the venues in their area to play demos of some of the latest Switch titles, including Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Nintendo Switch Sports, and Mario Strikers: Battle League. The Switch OLED will also be available to try out. The complete list of towns on the Road Trip and the booking process is currently available on Nintendo’s website.
Is the Nintendo Switch Road Trip as innocent as it sounds, or will it contain a weightier surprise? Expectations for new game announcements are running high this month in the gaming community circles, but the company has been fairly tight-lipped about its next Direct showcase. Stay tuned as we keep you posted here on Zelda Universe!
