When it comes to speedrunning for a good cause, Games Done Quick has been at it for 10 years now. While their speedruns encompass a variety of games and genres, the sole purpose is to raise money for various charities. This year’s goal is to raise funds for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
The schedule includes a variety of games, with several Zelda titles on the schedule including A Link to the Past on January 15 at 6pm EST. Meanwhile, Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora’s Mask 3D are subjects of an ongoing bidding war; the game that receives the most donations will be a featured speedrun Wednesday (January 14) night / Thursday (January 13) morning.
There was also a speedrun of Oracle of Seasons earlier in the week, which you can catch in its entirety below.
AGDQ will continue until January 15. GDQ speedruns are fun and contain useful, in-depth strategies for the techniques that the players employ, and in combination with the good cause, it is definitely worth a look so be sure to check it out.
