According to a report by VentureBeat, this year’s E3 showcase will be held solely online once again following concerns of the COVID-19 Omicron variant. The large-scale gaming event, held every June and renowned for its groundbreaking video game announcements, has been tucked away behind our screens since 2020 when COVID-19 became a worldwide setback.
Despite this, the Electronic Software Association is keeping a positive momentum going for the upcoming event. It states that it’s “excited about the possibilities of an online event.” After E3 2021’s Breath of the Wild sequel showcase detailing a target release for 2022, Zelda fans can look forward to more potential news and updates on this heavily anticipated title!
While there are still months ahead for global circumstances to change, industry attendees use this time to prepare for the event. Recently, CES 2022 continued as an in-person event and the Game Developers Conference will go ahead in-person in March.
