Summer Games Done Quick to be held online in August

Summer Games Done Quick will be slightly different this year. The popular speedrunning marathon, which is normally a live, in-person event, will be held online due to ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19. This was announced on the official Games Done Quick Twitter account, with the event taking place August 16-23.

In light of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site portion of #SGDQ2020 and instead proceed with an online-only event, Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online.

The event is now known as Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online and will be benefiting charity Doctors Without Borders. This isn’t the first instance of an exclusive online event for GDQ, as they did Corona Relief Done Quick in April which raised more than $400,000 for charity.

As per usual, the event will be livestreamed on the GDQ Twitch channel, with participants performing speedruns from the comfort of their own homes.
