Link is seen using new abilities and items in the latest Breath of the Wild sequel teaser

Today’s Nintendo Direct did not disappoint when it came to showing new details for the Breath of the Wild sequel, and this includes showing numerous new powers and items that Link will have at his disposal in the adventure.

To start, Link had brand-new physical gear. The most notable of these is an upgraded Paraglider to help in the sky-bound adventure. The slightly altered glider now has ribbons streaming from the back and a flatter, more kite-like shape. In this same scene, Link is also seen sporting a new sword and a new shield. The shield appears to have a modified Sheikah Eye and Triforce on the back.

The newest item introduced in the teaser is a fire-shooting cannon. Link is seen wielding this with his left hand and firing the weapon at a new type of enemy. The pyromaniac gains more power!

However, Link also has a host of brand-new abilities. Many of the fan theories appear to have been correct, as Link’s arm now is the key to many special powers. Link appears to have new versions of both Stasis and Revali’s Gale. Stasis works much differently, being able to launch an object without being hit. It also shows the object’s predicted path ahead of it.

Link can launch up into the sky with a burst of air with skill similar to Revali’s Gale. While it is not clear if this is the same move from the original Breath of the Wild, it could potentially hint at more returning Champion or Champion-like abilities.

These familiar moves were quickly followed by the new ability to shift through solid matter. In the teaser, we see Link doing this by melting into the ceiling with some green magic and appearing on top of the island. Given all the floating islands that can be seen in the trailer, this should be extremely helpful in the adventure.
