Awesome Breath of the Wild clay sculpture looks just like official concept art

Lynels are without a doubt one of the toughest enemies a player can encounter within any Legend of Zelda game, which is why The Master Trials concept art of Link standing in front of the Golden Lynel is so moving and powerful. Seeing someone ready to fight a creature so terrifying and evil sparks inspiration and courage into the heart, just as Link has done for many years. This magnificent painting is Reddit user and Zelda fan Pygmyfart’s favorite piece of concept art and it inspired him to create an equally (or even more) magnificent clay sculpture. One quick look at the sculpture by Pygmyfart already shows how beautiful it is, but upon closer inspection, one will see all the amazing work and small details that were put into the project to make it look so stunning.

For reference, here is the official concept art that the sculpture is based on:

Along with the post on Reddit, Pygmyfart uploaded a well-made and entertaining YouTube video to his channel North of the Border about the process of making the sculpture. He first started by forming the skeleton of the Lynel out of metal poles, covering the poles in tin foil, and finally carefully molding the clay to create each part of the Lynel perfectly. The only part of the Lynel that is not clay is its sword and shield, which is made from foam through a process called “LARPing.” After the Lynel is complete, Pygmyfart moved onto Link and followed a similar process, and then painted both figures to the correct colors. The whole process is breathtaking and amazing to watch happen.

Pygmyfart’s YouTube channel is also a great place to see many other amazing clay projects. This includes numerous videos on Zelda, including Tarin and Marin’s house from Link’s Awakening, Outset Island from The Wind Waker, as well as the Temple of Time, and a Guardian battle from Breath of the Wild. Outside of Zelda, he has projects based on other popular franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, Star Wars, Attack on Titan, and much more.
