Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity‘s Expansion Pass details, including a look at new armor and a weapon, have been revealed by Nintendo. The Expansion Pass comes in two waves, with the first wave being released in June and the second wave coming in November. Each wave can be bought together or individually. Additionally, you can receive the Prototype Ancient Armor and the Prototype Ancient Sword by preordering the full Expansion Pass on May 28.
According to the game’s official website “Pulse of the Ancients,” the game’s first wave of content, includes an expanded roster, new weapon types, Royal Ancient Lab challenges, and new challenging enemies. The second wave of DLC, “Guardian of Remembrance,” will include new character vignettes, new stages, even more new characters, and new battle skills for existing characters. Currently, not many specifics are known about the new content, but fans do have some common assumptions and expectations.

Robbie and Purah are presumed to be two of the characters, as well as Koga’s henchman, Sooga. (Personally, I can’t help but hope for some of my favorites from the original Hyrule Warriors, namely Linkle.) Golden Lynels and their malice-corrupted counterparts are thought to be new enemy types, but the expectation is that more than two enemies will be added. The Royal Ancient Lab challenges are theorized to be similar to the Adventure Mode missions from the original Hyrule Warriors, or they might have you go back and replay existing levels with modifiers. Another major point of speculation is the new stages. Perhaps we’ll see one of the labyrinths or Eventide Island be turned into an arena for mowing down tons of enemies.
It’s likely we’ll learn more about the first wave at Nintendo’s E3 presentation.
