You can now play randomized versions of the CD-i Zelda games, because why not?

Randomized games have really hit a high point in internet culture within the past year or so. Well, that high point has finally been topped. Twitter user @thedopster took it upon himself to randomize the CD-i classics Wand of Gamelon and The Faces of Evil.

Dopply receiving his riches from the randomizer community.

For those unaware, a randomizer is a hacked version of a game that rearranges different aspects of the original version. For example, there are many different types of A Link to the Past randomizers that shuffle around items, entrances, medallions, crystals, and even keys. It’s a fun and challenging way to experience an old classic.

This isn’t the first time Dopply tried his hand at fixing the CD-i games. In 2020, he created fully remastered versions of Gamelon and Faces. In order to run the randomizer, players will need to download his remastered versions. However, those have been pulled from public use and are only available from the Merlin’s Palace Discord server. After getting those, fans can download the randomizer from Dopply’s archive.org page.
