This fanmade mockup of a folder-focused Switch UI is just what the system needs

Sometimes, you just need to breathe some fresh air into a tired concept. Reddit user Frieznburg created a really neat mockup of what the Switch home screen would look like with some minor upgrades.

The biggest and most requested change is the addition of folders. Players have been clamoring for this change since the Switch’s release so that they can sort their enormous libraries in easy-to-find locations. Frieznburg’s design is unobtrusive and fits in with the basic theme very well. Another addition at the top of the screen shows you how many hours you’ve played a game for, what year it was released, and — this is a big one — if it is saved to your device or not. There are also some minor changes to the sidebar.

Although it looks similar to the current home screen, it packs a lot of new stuff into it. Maybe this will finally be the push that Nintendo needs to finally release an update of this fashion. Well, here’s hoping, however unlikely it may be.
