One of the best things about Nintendo’s Indie World presentations is the emphasis on “world.” Lienzo, a game development studio from Mexico, gave a sneak peek of its upcoming action-adventure game Aztech Forgotten Gods during today’s Indie World livestream.
Aztech focuses on Achtli, a courageous woman who must fight Aztech gods in order to discover secrets from the past. The game is a fusion of future tech and Aztec mythology that will give players a different perspective of the ancient religion.
The gameplay is reminiscent of Breath of the Wild and looks absolutely stunning. The boss battles are against giant monsters that will make the player feel impossibly small, all set to heavy guitar riffs. Even so, Achtli’s ancient robo arm gives her a fighting chance to strike back.
Aztech Forgotten Gods will be available on the Nintendo Switch in Fall of 2021.
