Following yesterday’s announcement of Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch, YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits produced a video comparing the graphics between trailers for Nintendo Switch and for the Wii.
The Wii version was produced at 30fps (frames per second) and originally designed for standard definition televisions. With the Nintendo Switch remaster at 60fps, there are obvious HD visuals throughout that look incredible next to the same scene in the Wii trailer.
Not only are edges more crisp and less grainy, there is overall less pixelation in the HD remaster, along with some beautiful added effects. The subtle details come alive on the Nintendo Switch, making the scenery all the more breathtaking. This video shows just how far graphics have come in the last ten years!
Skyward Sword HD is now available for preorder, and will release July 16, 2021.
