Universal Studios Japan reveals firsthand look at Super Nintendo World

After months of quietly working behind the scenes, the Super Nintendo World theme park is finally coming to fruition. Universal Studios Japan released a worldwide virtual premiere on a special website that allows visitors to take a virtual tour of the park from the comfort of their own home.

Viewers can tour all the features in the park by scrolling a mouse wheel, including park rides, restaurants, gift shops, and activities. Menu items and merchandise that will be available in the physical park are also visible in the site tour. That Piranha Plant Caprese sure looks good enough to devour!

Based on what we know from the tour, participants can purchase a Power-Up band to engage in special challenges throughout the park and square off with Bowser Jr. at the end. What’s more, families can interact and take pictures with Mario, Luigi and Peach (aw, how cute!).

Nintendo gave viewers an inside look at the park in their Super Nintendo World Direct last month. The video is hosted by none other than Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the Super Mario and Legend of Zelda franchises. So far no Zelda-themed attractions have arrived in this wonderful new land yet, but we can always hope for future attractions!

The Grand Opening for Super Nintendo World in Japan is scheduled for February 4, 2021. Plans for opening locations in California and Singapore are still in place, but no dates have been determined at this time.
