New gameplay footage of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was shown today, October 7, during Nintendo’s Treehouse: Live presentation. This new footage covered a wide range of details about the game, with the first features covered being Urbosa’s combat abilities and the appearance of Gerudo Town.
Urbosa was shown to faithfully match her fierce warrior status established in Breath of the Wild. Her attacks consist of a mix of powerful and fast sword combos and lightning attacks, both of which can be used in tandem to deal devastating blows to enemies. She can attack quickly with successive swipes from her sword while emitting focused blasts of electricity to paralyze her adversaries. She was also shown to have the ability to use the Sheikah Slate, which is consistent with all other playable characters shown so far.

Urbosa’s use of lightning is also tied to a gauge she can charge. Once the gauge is full, her lightning can be used with all of her most important attacks, such as her weak-point counter, strong attacks, and special attacks. The infusion of electricity increases the strength of her attacks in addition to the previously mentioned paralysis effect.
This preview of Urbosa’s abilities took place in Gerudo Town, which was the second focus point of her segment in the presentation. As has been shown in previous videos about Age of Calamity, the game’s map and arenas are faithful recreations of the Hyrule seen and explored in Breath of the Wild, albeit without the signs of destruction and ruin caused by Calamity Ganon.
Gerudo Town appears to be, for the most part, unchanged, with the layout, buildings, fountain system, and market still being present. This might provide evidence that Gerudo Town did not suffer too much damage during Hyrule’s decline, but nothing can be confirmed until Age of Calamity releases on November 20.
