Didn’t think that Breath of the Wild Zelda could fight? Think again. New footage from the Nintendo Treehouse presentation reveals the princess herself taking a piece of the action in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Her Triforce powers haven’t awakened yet, mind you. But thanks to Sheikah technology, Zelda can get her own licks in with the rest of the Champion crew.
Here she’s featured fighting waves of the Yiga Clan alongside Urbosa in the Gerudo Desert. Her moveset seems to be based on Sheikah Slate runes, which are a great nostalgic callback for Breath of the Wild players. Zelda can lock the Yiga in place with Stasis, freeze them, or wreak complete havoc with bombs.
Oh, and did we mention it’s a giant walking bomb with legs?
If you’ve been pining for a playable Princess Zelda, then this will be a very satisfying experience for you. Heck, she looks fun to try out even for me, and I prefer Urbosa. Zelda’s combat clip can be seen starting at the 4:48 mark in the following video.
