We’re all very excited to see Impa playable in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and during yesterday’s Nintendo Treehouse Live event, we got to see her in action again — and what a spectacle it was!
The main highlight of this new footage is Impa fighting a towering Hinox. Age of Calamity’s encounters seem just as thrilling and engaging as those in Breath of the Wild; breaking a Hinox’s guard, for example, is essentially the equivalent of stabbing their bulging eye in the original game. The Hinox also has a new trick of its own, with a somersault attack that turns into a belly flop. All of that aside, this bad boy has some insane belly jiggle physics. That’s the most exciting part of this presentation!
Odd physics aside, Impa is the star of the show here. One thing that is interesting about Impa is that we can see her using Urbosa’s Lighting, or at least, some kind of counterpart. It’ll be interesting to learn more when the full game releases; perhaps Urbosa taught Impa how to use it or even maybe the other way around. Impa can also summon copies of herself as a special move, as well as a giant frog!
There’s not long left to wait, and we’re definitely on counting down to November 20. This particular section takes place at the 21:55 mark in the video below.
