What a weekend!
Following livestreams from Koei Tecmo’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 presentation and Famitsu’s Game Live Japan 2020 panel, we learned a ton of new story and gameplay details for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. We picked apart all of the footage and commentary from both events, and if you missed anything important, you can catch it in our coverage listed below.
- A new “Champions Unite!” trailer aired, giving us more insight on the game’s story.
- We got a closer look at the special edition Treasure Box goodies.
- Impa, Young Sidon, King Dorephan, and the Deku Tree will appear.
- Impa has a very cool moveset.
- Link also has some flashy new moves of his own.
- We got some gorgeous new character artwork of the Champions.
- We saw a cutscene featuring the mysterious ‘egg’ Guardian and its powers.
- The dialogue from the English trailer teases the potential role of the Divine Beasts.
- We saw a fair amount of enemy variety, with many returning monsters from Breath of the Wild.
- Hyrule Field hides a ton of interesting details about the world and gameplay elements. Take a look at Randy’s in-depth investigation!
- We saw Daruk in action, as well as a Death Mountain stage, and additional special moves for Link and Impa.
- Purah is mentioned in the game’s dialogue, which might suggest that she plays a (hopefully playable) role in the game.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 20, 2020.
