Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity ‘Champions Unite!’ trailer airs during Tokyo Game Show 2020

During Koei Tecmo’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 presentation, a new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was released. An English version was quickly uploaded to the Nintendo of America YouTube channel, which allows us to dissect further.

The trailer kicks off by pulling at our heartstrings. Zelda is crying again, presumably about the events transpiring on the battlefield. We then subsequently get to see more story beats, such as witnessing a young Prince Sidon being hugged by a fellow Zora. The visuals retain the charm of Breath of the Wild’s watercolor-inspired aesthetic, with both the gameplay and cutscenes looking beautiful.

We also get to see brief segments of gameplay for each of the four Champions, with all of them using elemental attacks. For example, Mipha obviously uses water while Revali uses wind. After all of this excitement, the trailer wraps up with an appearance from Calamity Ganon!

There is more to cover regarding the presentation, so stay tuned for more! Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity launches on November 20 for the Nintendo Switch.
