In FanatixFour’s latest YouTube video, Parker Deal explains the significance of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and what the telling of this particular story could mean for the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild.
One of the significances Parker discusses is the possibility that Age of Calamity is the beginning of a 35th Anniversary celebration for The Legend of Zelda series, similar to Mario’s 35th Anniversary celebration. Not only could this begin with Age of Calamity and end with the release of the sequel to Breath of the Wild, but it could also include more Zelda content in between. This could come in the form of either remakes or ports of previous Zelda games being released on the Switch.
Parker also believes that with its release, Age of Calamity could open the door for one of the Champions to make their way into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character. With the DLC characters often being used as a marketing strategy for new games, it’s possible that one of the Champions could join the game’s character roster.
