Hey Zelda fans! It’s that time again: a new episode of our Zelda News series is now available on YouTube. In this week’s installment, Amanda talks about the highlights from the previous week, including Nintendo registering potential trademarks for the upcoming 35th anniversary of Zelda next year!
Zelda Universe’s Olivia Gentry also joined Parker Deal and AJ McRae on their podcast Directly to You! In this exciting episode, they discuss a range of topics including potential enemies in the upcoming sequel to Breath of the Wild. If you haven’t listened to this interesting conversation yet, I highly recommend it!
The other two topics for this week include a couple of Zelda-like games. First up is Genshin Impact, a game that takes a lot of inspiration from Breath of the Wild. This open-world, action-adventure game boasts an anime aesthetic and includes similar mechanics to Breath of the Wild, such as a stamina wheel and cooking. If you’re interested in playing it, Genshin Impact launches sometime later this year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The second game is Windbound, an upcoming survival adventure game developed by 5 Lives Studios. A new hands-on preview video by IGN said that it was a fun mix of both Breath of the Wild and The Wind Waker. Windbound will be available soon on August 28 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Google Stadia.
