Fan video explores how Breath of the Wild’s Luminous Stones may be connected to the mysterious glowing hand

Luminous Stones can be found all across Hyrule, from the boiling cliffs of Death Mountain to the rainy jungles of the Faron Woods. These stones glow a distinct pale blue color in the dark, similar, if not identical, to the color of the glowing hand seen in the trailer for the sequel to Breath of the Wild.

Theorist MaskedNintendoBandit believes these stones and the glowing hand are connected, and that their color similarities are no coincidence.

As he points out, color choices throughout Breath of the Wild and other Zelda titles are chosen carefully and connections are not made by mistake. All the Champions are seen with the same color blue on their attire marking their status as champions, all forms of Ganon and the Malice throughout Hyrule are the same color, and the ancient energy and technology of the Sheikah also share the same color of neon blue.

MaskedNintendoBandit believes that the Luminous Stones not only share a color scheme with the glowing hand but also to the dead. At various times in Breath of the Wild’s story, we see the spirits of the Champions and King Rhoam. Surrounding the spirits are pale blue lights, strikingly similar to both the color of the Luminous Stones and the glowing hand. Supporting this connection is the Luminous Stones’ description found in the player’s inventory. In this, it is said that some believe the glow of the stones to be the souls of the dead.

The glow of the Champions’ spirits are similar to the glow of the Luminous Stones.

The theorist goes further into these connections and points out the possible purpose that the Luminous Stones present in the sequel trailer might have. Not only are large amounts of the stones present, but they are bigger than any deposits found above ground in Hyrule. If these stones really contain the spirits of the dead, they may have some connection to Ganon’s captivity and to the glowing hand.
