MaskedNintendoBandit released a new theory on their YouTube channel concerning Ganon’s ears in the Breath of the Wild sequel trailer. The theory discusses Ganon’s distinctly rounded ears in the trailer, while the Gerudo in Breath of the Wild have pointed ears like the Hylians.
In his video, he points out that previous versions of Ganon have had pointed ears, with the interesting exception of Ocarina of Time’s Ganon. This interesting detail may hint that the Ganon we see in the trailer is one we have seen before, or an ancient one who lived before the Gerudo’s ears became pointed.
While he admits it could simply be the work of a design developer and nothing more, the shapes of character’s ears do have meaning throughout various Zelda titles. This seemingly small detail may deserve more attention than at first glance.
