As the plethora of Korok torture memes from Tears of the Kingdom shows, not everyone appreciates the cuteness of those little leafy guys. Perhaps it’s their constant need for attention, always asking to be lugged not just a little ways away, but often up a cliff or on the other side of an enemy camp. On the other side of the Hyrule fauna chart are the Blupees. They are so cute with their little glowing eyes and luminescent antlers, but they’re also really helpful as the startled little creatures lead us to caves holding the mysterious Bubbulfrogs and their gems. Since Breath of the Wild, these blue beauties have been one of the most adorable Zelda creatures of all. How can you top that cuteness? Well, the amazing artist UmbraTundra has an answer: create meticulously crafted stuffed versions of them.

Even a cursory glance reveals the amount of skill and effort that went into making these. The varying lengths of the fluffy fur, which immediately causes a yearning to pet it, shows the attention to detail UmbraTundra paid to making these fantastical creatures more realistic. If they were hopping through forests and meadows, the fur on their legs would likely be shorter so as to not get caught on tree roots and other outgrowths. A little higher up on their body is where the Blupees can really let their fur floof out, enticing our hands to give it a pet.
As much as I love their fluffiness, the most distinctive feature of the Blupee is its glowing eyes. UmbraTundra has crafted these out of a beautiful golden color that is pretty enchanting. They have also crafted a plastic face plate for the head that really allows the eyes to pop, and gives the Blupees a distinct sense of a nose and brows. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of the domino mask a superhero or thief might wear. Too bad the glowing eyes and luminescent fur don’t allow for much camouflage!
My absolute favorite part of these stuffed sirens are the antlers though. They look extremely delicate, and the colors are amazing. The way that they transition from a golden glow to a deep scarlet reminds me of autumn leaves, and leaves me even more in awe of the attention to detail the creator has put into these.
Make no mistake, these amazing Blupee stuffies painstakingly crafted by UmbraTundra only reinforce how cute these little spectral creatures are. They warm my heart and make me yearn to pet them. It’s enough to make me feel guilty for all the times I sent an arrow into them to collect a few Rupees. Their cutest has revealed me to be a money-grubbing monster! Well, UmbraTundra’s beautiful sculpture is enough to make me repent. Save the Blupees!
