Disclaimer: None of what has been stated by the voice actors about Breath of the Wild 2 has been confirmed. This article is to detail what has been addressed by multiple sources.
The sequel to Breath of the Wild has been long confirmed for development as of (publicly) June 11, 2019. Since then, no major news (aside from a few job postings for the development team) has been reported about the highly anticipated sequel.
Two of the voice actors, Nerea Alfonso (Princess Zelda) and Marcel Navarro (Revali), from the Spanish dub of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, were brought on a Nintendo podcast, Un cafe con Nintendo, to speak about their work on the game. Their comments led those to believe that the voice acting for Breath of the Wild 2 may be complete. This is crucially misinterpreted and should not be taken as fact.
One of the actors themselves wasn’t sure if they were even allowed to be talking about doing the voice work, which the other actor quickly backed up by saying they are most certainly not.
Being this a podcast in Spanish, multiple people have translated what the voice actors said about their work on Breath of the Wild and supposedly its sequel. The featured tweets can all be found in GameXplain’s video.
The podcast team themselves, Un cafe con Nintendo, have just recently posted a statement about the rumors and speculation.
Overall, the actors are not confirming nor denying if they have done (or even finished) the voice work for Breath of the Wild 2. While the voice actors may have gone back and forth about it, this news should be taken with a grain of salt. Voice actors are normally the last groups of people to be worked with for most video games, so this led to speculation that Breath of the Wild 2 should be coming out soon. This by no means confirms anything, until we get an official comment or announcement by Nintendo.
Just as the team from Un cafe con Nintendo has stated, the actors here ought to be given the utmost respect, despite the confusion going around online.
We’re eager to find out more about the sequel to Breath of the Wild. If any new information about the voice work is brought up, we will update this article post accordingly.
