The highly anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild was undoubtedly on every Zelda fan’s mind as they watched the first Nintendo Direct presentation in over a year. Zelda turns 35 in just a few days, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to show more of the game. Unfortunately, fans will have to keep waiting a bit longer.
Eiji Aonuma, the lead producer of the Zelda series, announced during the presentation that they “don’t have anything to share right now.” However, he also confirmed that “development is proceeding smoothly” and that they should be able to bring us some new information later this year.
As disappointing as this may initially seem, it is reassuring to know that Nintendo is aware of the excitement around the game and that they wanted to give everyone a small update on development. You can check out Aonuma’s full statement at the 42:01 mark in the following video.
