The Nintendo 64 goes portable in this custom project

A few months ago, YouTube user smackedsam created a fully functioning, portable Nintendo 64. He initially called this the “Epic 64,” which then received a slight upgrade called the “Epic 64 II.” Sam has experimented with portable Nintendo 64 projects since 2011, starting with a design that resembled the Game Boy Advanced SP.

Shortly after his video about the Epic 64 II, he teased a new project called the Slipstream 2. In his latest video, he has showcased the full device functioning and it’s something to behold.

This device boasts a GameCube control stick, buttons to navigate menus, and traditional N64-inspired buttons. Sam showcases games running on the system and mentions that the N64 Expansion Pak is built in. Other cool features include a headphone port and a controller slot on the back of the system.

This is extremely well made and even shows gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. You can check out his full video below, which delves into all the technical aspects of the device.
