The Nintendo Switch has recently received attention for being rated as one of the top handheld consoles by The Guardian. The article, which includes a lengthy list of 20 handheld consoles, ranks the Nintendo Switch as number one. This rating surpasses iconic devices such as the Game Boy, Nintendo DS, and 3DS.
The UK publication describes the Switch as “the culmination of everything Nintendo has tried to do with gaming since 1989.” The article continues on to detail what makes the Switch unique to other handheld consoles: “It is convenient, intuitive and beautifully designed as a handheld device, but it also plugs into your TV and becomes a proper home console.”
