Zelda developer Grezzo is hiring for a new ‘stylish,’ ‘medieval’ project

Nintendo has partnered with a ton of external studios over the years and perhaps one of its most fruitful partnerships has been with Grezzo, the developer behind games like Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora’s Mask 3D, and their most recent project, the Switch remake of Link’s Awakening, released back in September of 2019.

It seems like the company is looking to expand its teams as they work on a new title and the job listings may be sparking some speculation. In particular, the listings for an effects designer and UI designer suggest that the new project will be “medieval” and “stylish” but not entirely photorealistic. A description that tends to fit Zelda games quite accurately.

It is perfectly possible that this doesn’t refer to a new Zelda game, especially since Nintendo has published wholly original games made by the developer like Ever Oasis in 2017, but given how Zelda’s 35th anniversary is happening this year, one can’t help but wonder if the listings may be related to a new Zelda remaster or remake. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to find out what Grezzo is working on next.
