Attendees to this year’s Evolution Championships (EVO for short) will be able to get some hands-on time with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, coming later this year to Switch.
For those unfamiliar with the event, EVO is sort of the “Super Bowl” of fighting games. It’s an event where the best of each game shows off what they’re made of in competition in front of thousands of people in attendance and online. It’s truly a unique event, where many friendships can be made either watching the action unfold live or in one of the many places set up through the area where people are encouraged to just show up, play, and have a good time.
Nintendo will be there this year helping to push the recently debuted Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The game was shown off to attendees of E3 back in June, and now anyone able to make it to Las Vegas can get some hands-on time with a variety of characters. Unless new information comes to light, it’s probably safe to assume this will be the identical builds used at E3 in June. If you did somehow get a chance to check it out then, maybe let some new folks cut in front you in line, hm?
EVO 2018 is happening on August 3-5 this year, in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. Ultimate is set to release on December 7 of this year.
Additional information can be found on the official EVO webpage.
