It’s all about those small details! I’ve really enjoyed soaking in all the minor yet fascinating visual and gameplay tweaks from Treehouse Live’s demonstrations of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, laid out by series director Masahiro Sakarai.
In the first segment, I came across one such detail that Zelda fans in particular will appreciate. At the 15:24 mark, Sakurai says, “So Link, when he has no damage, he can actually shoot a blade beam out.”
This is of course a nod to many Zelda games, including the most recent installment Breath of the Wild, in which Link fire beams from the Master Sword when he has a full Life Gauge.
If you watch Link very carefully as the match starts at 15:12, you can see the sword beams in action!
