The Nintendo Direct during E3 revealed lots of new areas, gameplay features and characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Not all the best things are new, however, thanks to the ability to use GameCube controllers while playing the newest entry in the Smash Bros franchise! You could even use PowerA’s officially licensed adapter to plug in your old GameCube controllers and play Smash.

The Direct also teased a brand new GameCube controller with the Super Smash Bros image on it. Sadly, there are no details yet on a release date or price, but it seems safe to assume it’ll come out around December 7, which is the launch for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

You can catch the controller announcement at the 21:57 mark in the video below.

Stay tuned to Zelda Universe for more Super Smash Bros Ultimate news!

Update: Nintendo of Europe has confirmed via Twitter that the new controller will indeed be available on December 7, 2018, when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches.
