After 43 years of helping craft legendary games for Nintendo, Takehiro Izushi has officially retired.
Takehiro Izushi was a monumental engineer, producer, and developer for Nintendo whose career began in 1975. His first product was Beam Gun Custom, but you’re probably more familiar with the Game & Watch units, such as Donkey Kong, which he helped engineer and program. Later in his career, he became a producer for a multitude of Nintendo’s most popular franchises, like Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Wario Land, and Metroid.

In 2014, Takehiro Izushi switched positions from game development to the General Affairs Division, where he stayed until announcing his retirement.
His work in the gaming industry is undeniable and while it is sad to see him go, we wish him the best of luck!
