The SNES Classic Edition launched less than a week ago, and is currently being enjoyed by those who were lucky enough to grab one before they quickly sold out at retailers everywhere.

But despite the predictable quick sell-out GameStop Senior Vice President of Merchandising Bob Puzon spoke out to reassure fans that the SNES Classic Edition will be restocked soon. This confirmation should help satisfy some of the overwhelming demand for the nostalgic console from the early 90’s.

Bob Puzon said, “Nintendo has done it again! Customer demand for the SNES Classic was just like we expected. We sold out of our SNES Classic inventory within minutes in both our GameStop and ThinkGeek retail channels. But customers shouldn’t worry. We’re getting more very soon. Once we do, our customers will be the first to know!”

Some people are waiting on a link to the SNES Classic Edition to play A Link to the Past

This is pleasing to hear, especially after Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé assured fans that they have been heard and there will be a bigger incoming supply of the mini machine, along with more NES Classic Editions to come in the summer of 2018. So for the moment, it may be best to take Reggie’s advice and hold off on buying scalpers’ overpriced Ebay lots.
