Last week, developer Rainbite Limited announced a new action-adventure RPG titled Reverie. Despite being heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Earthbound, the game may have slipped under the radar of many Zelda fans because it was announced exclusively for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.
The story stars a boy named Tal as he explores six dungeons on a fictional island in New Zealand. It’s an intriguing premise, and the trailer makes the game look like a perfect fit for any fan of classic Zelda games. The art style is clearly inspired by Earthbound, but the gameplay is reminiscent of 2D Legend of Zelda games.
Reverie is scheduled for a 2018 release.
