Looking for a new way to listen to some old classics?

Switched On SNES is re-imagining 16-bit era music using analog synthesizers and drum machines. Their goal is “to expose listeners to the musical masterpieces that have been overlooked — mostly because of the 16-bit instrumentation.” Their first album — based on arguably one of the greatest Zelda games, A Link to the Past — is already available for purchase through Bandcamp. You can download nine remastered tracks for $5, or gift them to a friend who hasn’t been exposed to this iconic music. All royalties go right back to Nintendo and legendary composer Koji Kondo.

A Link to the Past is only the start of this project. Future albums will cover Secret of Mana, Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country, and more. Keep an eye on Switched On SNES for updates on their work.
