Reuniting Kafei and Anju was one of the longest and most endearing side quests in Majora’s Mask. Just days before Kafei’s wedding (which was meant to take place the first day of the carnival) he was transformed into a child by the possessed Skull Kid. This heart-warming side quest saw Link work with Kafei to reverse the spell and to ensure that he marries Anju.

During the ending credits Anju can be seen in her wedding dress, but Kafei is no where to be seen. It was never revealed why this was the case, but players were left wondering what Kafei truly looked like. However, for the first time ever, Hyrule Encyclopedia shows what Kafei looks like as an adult.

Perhaps this concept image suggests that Kafei’s true form was initially intended to be part of the game. Maybe it was always intended to be a mystery and Nintendo feel that enough time has passed now. Either way it’s great to see the true representation of Kafei, and the fulfillment of one of the most compelling side quests in Zelda history.
