Collaborative duo Akira Himekawa have teased a new piece of artwork on their Facebook page for their upcoming Twilight Princess manga, this time showing Zelda and Zant.

Our princess is looking rather angry and wielding her rapier fiercely, so I’d wager that this is based on the flashback scene in the game where Zant attacks Hyrule Castle. There is also a detailed head-shot of Zant, who’s looking menacing as usual.

OHMYGOD, OHMYGOD, OHMYGOD!!!! *Screaming internally and externally*

  • Christian Beach

This is already a must for my Zelda collection!

I absolutely can’t wait to see Zant hopping around like a nut in manga form.

    • Shona

      Hahaha yes!!!

Zelda’s artwork here is simply gorgeous! I wasn’t too interested in the manga at first, but Himekawa did really well with Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and especially Link to the Past (which are the only ones I have) so I might think of picking up TwiPri at some point.

Artwork wise I can agree. Writing wise not so much(I love how they have drawn every single adaptation, but what they did with A Link to the Past was…just odd)

I liked it for being different, so while it definitely wasn’t Link to the Past as we knew it, I thought it was a cool story nonetheless. Granted, I thought the added bits in Ocarina of Time were a bit odd, but the explanation for Volvagia was neat, I just don’t know about the bird-person extra story. As for Majora, all the extra stuff just made the world that much better, layering a bit more mystery while also exploring how some things happened.

Well, I HATED the added girl. It was just shoe horned how her drama had a heavy part on her being in unrequited love with Link(Himekawa duo, you’re not Kentaro Miura. It doesn’t work as well as you think it does if you don’t do it right). I can agree some of the other additions to the other games are brilliant though(despite the fact it operates on a flagrant continuity issue within the manga itself, the added story for Volvagia was excellent, and gave Link some neat development as well as being heartbreaking)

If you ever get the chance, then you should read the 4 Sword Adventure adaptation. In my opinion, both the art and story was top notch.

  • Shona

Looks amazing! I’m definitely going to add this to my collection.

    • Linka Skyloft

      Same here!

Hold on, anyone notice Zelda is crying? She has a tear on her left cheek.
