I remember once hearing the writer of an animated show saying something along the lines of, “Great stories come from unlikely pairings.” Well, this is definitely the case in my latest pick for Yuga’s Art Gallery. Who would have thought Twilight Princess and Untitled Goose Game would make for such a hilarious combination? Artist Anilede did, and it is exquisite.
The tone of Twilight Princess was overall pretty serious, especially when its villain Zant was portrayed as a foreboding, intense force of darkness. But unfortunately, it lost some of that seriousness when Zant became a flailing, nonthreatening caricature, writing him out of the serious villain role to pave the way for their more serious threat, Ganondorf.

It worked out for the best though, because his comical buffoonery lends itself perfectly to this mashup with Untitled Goose Game, which has a light-hearted, slapstick sense of humor that is just golden. I love the idea of a naughty goose harassing Zant, who thinks he’s the Thanos of this world but is actually more like the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. You know, a man who loves to exert his power but is really just a joke, basically.
We have an important question to answer though: Who let this goose on the loose? Is it one of the Twili who ended up in the form of a goose and has had absolutely enough of Zant’s nonsense? What is the goose going to pinch from him? A pair of glasses? A piece of the Fused Shadow? One of his shoes? One of those dangling sleeve-tassels, causing Zant’s well-put-together outfit to tear? (These are all funny as heck in my head, I swear.)
I can just imagine a skit of the two running around the Twilight Realm with some Benny Hill music playing before the screen comically shrinks into a circle, focusing on the naughty Twili goose honking at Zant as he flails his arms about, both eventually running off into the Twilight horizon.
