Annual Zeldathon event raising money for Direct Relief charity

The annual Zeldathon marathon event began late last week. The event raises money for charity while fans of The Legend of Zelda play through every game in the series, including spin-offs and the notorious (but beloved) Phillips CD-i video games, on stream for six days straight each summer.

This year, Zeldathon Recovery is raising money for Direct Relief, a charity focused on disease prevention and emergency response. So far this year, the event has raised over $165,000 for Direct Relief, and there are still two more days of streaming before the event ends. The schedule for the last couple of days includes fan favorites like The Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time as well as the classic NES game that started it all, The Legend of Zelda.

You can watch the live stream at Zeldathon.net. Donations are accepted online, and you can learn more about Direct Relief on their website, www.directrelief.org.

The Yetee has partnered with Zeldathon for the event. You can purchase exclusive Zelda themed t-shirts online during the event. A portion of each purchase will be donated to Direct Relief.
