We are now one week away from the release of the expanded musou spin-off, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and not surprisingly many new traliers for the game have surfaced across Nintendo’s YouTube channels. Here’s a round-up of the most recent uploads, which give us another look at King Daphnes’ and Linkle’s combat styles, a character overview and an explanation on the game’s Amiibo functionality.

First up, we have a trailer showcasing King Daphnes’ combat abilities. The king of Hyrule can transform back and forth from his human and boat forms as he fights; the former sees him rapidly swinging a sail for crowd control, while the latter blows enemies away with a giant wave of water.

He looks like a very interesting character to play as, though I must say, that grunting noise he makes sounds like it could get very grating over long play sessions. I’d hate to silence his majesty but sorry dude, my 3DS is going on mute until you quieten down.

This one seems very much like a shorter version of December’s Japanese Linkle trailer, so there’s not much new to see here. Still, it’s fun to see the plucky new heroine in action, and the dual crossbows seem like they could add something fresh to the game.

This trailer is more on the lengthy side, as it provides a general overview of every playable character in the game. Again, there’s nothing new to see here, but if you need catching up on how all the characters play or you’re looking to amp up your hype for the game, it may be worth a watch.

As with the previous Hyrule Warriors title, you can scan in your Zelda-themed Amiibo figures — Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganondorf and Wolf Link — in Legends to unlock weapons. For example, tapping in Link will give you Chain Chomp-flavoured Power Gloves.

You can also use any other Amiibo you own to unlock random weapons, materials and Rupees. Up to five different Amiibo can be scanned per day.
